OPTICAL TRANSPARENCY
Our water-clear resin produces parts with genuine optical transparency. After printing and polishing, parts transmit light cleanly — making them ideal for light pipes, prototype lenses, display cases, fluid flow visualisation, and transparent packaging prototypes.
Straight off the printer, clear resin parts are translucent with a slight haze. With sanding and polishing (which we offer as a post-processing service), parts achieve near-glass clarity. The level of finish depends on your application — functional light pipes may not need full polishing, while display pieces benefit from the extra work.

How clear are the prints?

Can you print functional lenses?
For prototype and fit-testing purposes, yes. Our clear resin parts can replicate lens geometry accurately for assembly verification. However, they are not optical-prescription grade and are not suitable for final optical applications requiring precise light refraction.
Does the clarity degrade over time?
Uncoated clear resin can yellow with prolonged UV exposure. We recommend our UV-protective clear coating for any parts intended for long-term display or outdoor use. With the coating applied, clarity is maintained significantly longer.
What's the maximum size for clear parts?
Our SLA build volume accommodates parts up to 218 × 123 × 235mm per piece. For larger transparent assemblies, we can print in sections designed to bond together with optically clear adhesive.
