FREQUENTLY ASKED

EDUCATION & RESEARCH 3D PRINTING FAQ

Do you offer academic or student discounts?

Yes — academic discounts apply for students and research teams on production of valid student ID or department billing details. Discount tier depends on volume; contact the workshop ahead of placing the order. We work with student dissertation projects, departmental research, MSc/PhD prototypes, and class-set ordering for DT and engineering courses.

Can you supply parts for school DT or STEM programmes?

Yes — we work with schools, colleges and STEM outreach programmes for class-set ordering, prototype-and-test kits, and one-off props for demonstrations. Bulk discounts kick in from 10+ identical parts. Fast turnaround so prints land before the lesson plan, not after.

Do you work with university research groups?

Routinely — Oxford University, Oxford Brookes, Reading, Northampton, Cranfield, the Open University, plus the Begbroke and Harwell research ecosystems. Scientific instrument housings, lab fixtures, custom apparatus, sample holders, beamline accessories and one-off rigs for funded research programmes. NDA on request.

Can teachers or lecturers get a single quote for a class set?

Yes — send the STL, the quantity, and the deadline. We'll quote the whole batch in one go with the volume discount applied. Most class-set orders ship within 5–7 working days; let us know your lesson timeline and we'll work back from it.

Are there minimum orders for academic projects?

No — no minimum order across any of our printing services. A single £5 part is fine. We don't add setup fees and we don't charge for quotes. Academic discounts apply on top of standard pricing.
