FEATURED PROJECT

MVP enclosures for a Begbroke spin-out's Series-A pitch

We routinely print MVP enclosure prototypes for engineering startups out of the Begbroke Innovation Centre and Oxford Science Park — functional iteration in PETG, presentation-finish builds in SLA grey resin for investor demos, all on the iteration cadence the gate review demands.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

ENGINEERING & ROBOTICS 3D PRINTING FAQ

Can you support gated R&D engineering programmes?

Yes — we routinely deliver against milestone gate reviews for hardware startups and OEM development teams. NDA before quoting, scoped delivery dates, batch-priced iteration runs, and a written estimate before any custom CAD work begins. Trade accounts with negotiated rates and invoicing terms available for ongoing development relationships.

What materials do engineering teams use most often?

PETG for functional fit-check and load-bearing fixtures (flexes rather than cracks). ABS or ASA for heat or outdoor applications. Polycarbonate for maximum stiffness and impact. PLA for early visual prototypes — cheap and fast for the design-iteration loop. SLA grey resin when surface finish has to look injection-moulded for stakeholder review. Most engineering programmes use 2–3 of these materials across the development cycle.

Do you sign NDAs and handle confidential work?

Routinely. Most of our engineering work is for product design teams, motorsport engineers and startups where the geometry is commercially sensitive. Send your standard NDA before the upload and we'll sign before quoting. We don't share or store customer designs beyond what's needed to print and ship the order.

Can you provide engineering documentation with prints?

Yes — every print can ship with a material data sheet (MDS), a dimensional inspection record (key dimensions vs nominal), and a process-trace summary (printer, layer height, infill, supports, cure schedule for SLA). Standard for any engineering customer requesting it. Add to the order at quote time.

Do you work with university engineering research groups?

Yes — Oxford, Oxford Brookes, Reading, Cranfield, Northampton and the Begbroke/Harwell research ecosystem are all regular customers. Academic discounts on student or research-team ID. NDA on request for funded research programmes with industry partners.
