Formlabs High Temp is a stiff, thermally stable SLA resin with a heat deflection temperature of 238°C at 0.45 MPa — the highest in our range. Printed on our Form 4, it is built for parts that see heat: injection and thermoforming mould inserts, hot-air and fluid-flow channels, and thermal-test fixtures. It captures fine detail with a smooth finish, and a thermal post-cure brings it to full temperature resistance. A special-order engineering resin, quotable instantly online.

WHEN TO CHOOSE HIGH TEMP

WHEN HIGH TEMP IS THE RIGHT MATERIAL

  • Moulds and tooling — injection, thermoforming and casting inserts that must hold shape under heat and pressure for short runs.
  • Hot-air and fluid channels — ducting, manifolds and flow fixtures that see elevated temperatures.
  • Thermal test parts — jigs and fixtures for heat testing, or parts near hot equipment where standard resin would soften.
  • Fine-detail parts that also need heat resistance — High Temp keeps the smooth SLA finish while surviving 238°C.
WHEN NOT TO CHOOSE HIGH TEMP

WHEN HIGH TEMP IS THE WRONG MATERIAL

  • Impact or load-bearing parts — like most high-HDT resins it is stiff and brittle. Use Tough 1500 or Tough 2000 for parts that get handled or flexed.
  • Flexible parts — this is a rigid resin. For rubber-like behaviour use Flexible 80A or Silicone 40A.
  • Large solid blocks — thick sections are best hollowed with drain holes to control cost and internal stress.
  • Everyday visual prototypes — the heat resistance is wasted; Standard resin is cheaper and stocked.
