STEP BY STEP

FROM MAKERWORLD TO A PRICE

    Sign in to MakerWorld
    Open the model page and click Sign In (top right). If you already use Bambu Studio or the Handy app, it's the same account. Without signing in the Download button does nothing.

    Click Download
    On the model page, click the Download button next to the model's title. A dropdown offers the print profile as a 3MF and the raw model as STL (sometimes labelled Model files). Either works for us.
  3. 03
    Pick 3MF or STL
    The 3MF is one file with every part already laid out — easiest for multi-part models. The STL option usually downloads a zip with one file per part. If you only want some parts, take the zip and pick from it on our quote page.

    Find the file
    It saves to your browser's Downloads folder. On a phone it lands in Files (iPhone) or Downloads (Android).
  5. 05
    Upload it for an instant price
    Go to the instant quote page and drop the file in — a zip is fine, we unpack it. You'll see a price straight away, then pick material, colour and quantity and pay online. Each file becomes its own part, so untick anything you don't need before you check out.

WHICH FILE TO PICK ON MAKERWORLD
  • 3MF for multi-part or multi-colour models — one file, everything included.
  • STL zip if you only want some of the parts.
MAKERWORLD GOTCHAS
  • Some models are marked Exclusive or can only be printed through the Bambu Handy app. Those have no download button and we can't quote them — ask the designer for the file.
  • MakerWorld 3MFs carry the designer's print settings for a Bambu printer. We take the geometry and re-slice for our own machines, so your material and quality choices on the quote page are what count.
  • Multi-colour models: the 3MF keeps the colour assignments. Our FDM printers can do multi-colour on request — mention it in the notes at checkout.

FILES, SIZES AND LICENCES

Pick model files, not print files
STL, 3MF, OBJ and STEP are model files and quote instantly. Gcode, .chitubox, .lys and other sliced or project files are set up for someone else's printer and can't be priced — leave them.
Zips are fine
Upload the zip as downloaded. We open it, keep the printable files and drop the photos and readme. Each printable file becomes its own part with its own price.
Check the size
The quote page shows each part's dimensions in mm. A part that reads 25× smaller than expected was modelled in inches — tell us in the notes and we'll scale it before printing.
Licences
Free models carry a licence set by the designer. Having your own copy printed for your own use is what those licences expect. If a licence says non-commercial, that's about selling the prints on, not about having one made.

MAKERWORLD QUESTIONS

Can Bicester3D download a MakerWorld model for me?
No — MakerWorld requires the person downloading to be signed in, and we can't sign in as you. The download takes about a minute with a free Bambu Lab account, then you upload the file to us for an instant price.
Should I download the 3MF or the STL from MakerWorld?
Either. The 3MF is a single file with every part laid out and any colour assignments, which is ideal for multi-part models. The STL download is a zip with one file per part, better if you only want some of them.
The MakerWorld model has no Download button — can you still print it?
Not from MakerWorld. Models marked Exclusive or app-only can't be exported. Try messaging the designer for the file, or search Printables and Thingiverse for a similar model.
